So, I have a ton of voice-over work to finish….and no voice! Here’s remedy #1 for nursing my ‘money-maker’ back to perfect pitch: ginger and basil tea with a teaspoon of neem honey. I don’t actually mix the honey, but prefer to take it from the spoon. It’s quite soothing for my throat and works to lubricate the vocal chords. If you have a cool natural remedy (that works!) tweet it to me: @row_lewis. =) #blessings
Nutmeg Oil: This morning I woke up with some major neck/shoulder (muscle) pain, after several dozing off episodes at my desk last night. Bloody deadlines! ;). Here’s one of my natural remedies for all such pain, to include arthritis, carpel tunnel and other nerve and muscle pain. Rub a few drops of nutmeg oil unto your area of pain, massage, and find relief.
The nutmeg in general has so many wonderful health and wellness benefits (Look for me to cover them all in an upcoming ANY-QT. Benefits include pain relief, digestive help, cardiovascular health, liver cleansing, and more.
Along with 9 other flu fighting foods, this is what’s easing me through the flu season. 1000-2000mg of Vitamin C mixed with freshly squeezed grapefruit juice in my mornings. The grapefruit is a superfood, full of vitamin C, antioxidants, disease preventing phytonutrients, and lots of fiber.
Don’t forget to watch Tuesday’s all new episode of A New You Quick Tips to find out what those other 9 flu-fighting foods are! In the meantime, catch up on my two previous ANY-QT segments and find out the health perks of eating chocolate, and how the Caribbean drink, sorrel, could prevent diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and cancer.
Did you know that the associations that our brains make between how we feel and how our bodies react are so strong that our expressions can reinforce our emotions? Our faces not only communicate our states of mind to others but also to ourselves. Simply put — when we smile or laugh, it tells our brain that we’re happy about something. So practice smiling often, whether you feel happy or not and feel a change in your demeanor and eventually your outlook! Smiling really works…plus, you look so much better when you smile! =)
